User guide
Everything you need to create, design, protect and track your QR codes.
Getting started
Create your account
Click Start free on the website, enter your name, email and a password (at least 8 characters with a letter and a number). You land on your dashboard straight away.
Create your first QR code
Click Create QR code. Pick a type, fill in the content, give it a name only you will see, then click Create QR code. You can download it right away from the code page.
Dynamic or static?
Leave Dynamic switched on for almost everything. Dynamic codes use a short link, so you can change the destination after printing and see every scan. Static codes store the content directly: they work offline but can never be changed or tracked.
Test before printing
Always scan a new code with your phone before printing it. Download PDF for print shops, SVG for designers and PNG for screens and social media.
Your dashboard
The dashboard shows codes, scans today, this week and the last 30 days (with the change), unique visitors, leads, a 30-day chart, live scan activity, top codes, devices, countries and code types. Alerts for broken links appear at the top.
Mobile app
Install the Android app from your provider, or open the website in Chrome on your phone and choose Add to Home screen. On phones a bottom bar gives quick access to Home, Create, Reports and Leads.
The menu
The left menu keeps your everyday pages at the top (Dashboard, My QR codes, Analytics, Reports). Engage, Manage and Account open and close with a click and remember your choice. Click the menu button next to the logo to shrink the menu to icons. On phones, use the bottom bar and More.
QR code types
Website URL
Opens a web page. Optional extras: Smart device routing sends iPhone and Android users to different links (great for app stores), and UTM tracking adds campaign tags so Google Analytics shows the traffic source.
Landing page, menu or form
Build a mobile page without a website: a title, text, a menu or product list (Name | Price | Description, one per line), buttons, a header image and an optional lead capture form (name, email, phone, message). Leads appear under Leads, can be exported, and can be sent to HubSpot, Slack, Teams or Discord.
Link page
A mobile page with up to 20 buttons. Add one link per line as Label | https://.... Perfect for social profiles and "link in bio".
File / PDF
Upload a menu, brochure, manual, image, audio or video file (up to 10 MB). Upload a new file later to replace it without reprinting.
Opens a WhatsApp chat with your number, with an optional pre-filled message. Include the country code, for example +92 300 1234567.
Wi-Fi
Lets guests join your network by scanning. Enter the network name, password and security type. Tip: make Wi-Fi codes static so they work even without internet.
Contact card
Shares your name, company, phone, email, website and address. People tap Save contact to add you to their phone.
Event
Shows the event details and an Add to calendar button that works with Google, Apple and Outlook calendars.
Email, phone, SMS, text and location
Start an email or text message, call a number, show plain text, or open a map location. Enter coordinates as latitude and longitude.
Designing your code
Style and colours
Choose classic squares, rounded or dots. Use a colour preset or pick your own. Keep the code dark on a light background: if colours are too similar, the app warns you because phones may not scan it.
Gradient and eye colour
Switch on Gradient to for a two-colour blend, and Eye colour to colour the three corner squares separately.
Logo
Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 2 MB and set its size (10 to 30%). Error correction is raised to High automatically so the code still scans.
Frame caption
Add a short call to action such as SCAN ME (up to 30 characters) in a coloured frame under the code.
Live preview
The preview on the right updates as you type. Your logo appears after you save.
Managing codes
My QR codes
My QR codes in the menu lists every code with quick tabs (All, Active, Paused, Scheduled, Expired, Broken links), search, filters, sorting, grid or list view and bulk actions. The Dashboard gives the overview: key numbers, charts, live activity and your latest codes.
Search, filter and sort
Search by name, link, short code, tag, SKU, serial, campaign or location. Filter by type, status (active, paused, scheduled, expired, broken link, password protected), dynamic or static, folder, campaign, location and tag. Sort by newest, name, most scanned or recently scanned, and switch between grid and list view.
Bulk actions
Tick codes (or tick the header box in list view) to pause, activate, tag, move to a folder, set a campaign or location, download PNG/SVG/PDF as a ZIP, or delete them all at once.
Find codes
Use the search box, folders and tags on My QR codes. Add folders and tags in step 4 of the editor.
Edit
Open a code and click Edit. For dynamic codes the change is live instantly, even on printed codes.
Pause, duplicate or delete
On the code page, Pause shows people an unavailable page until you activate it again. Duplicate copies all settings. Delete removes the code and its scan data for good.
Custom short link
Choose your own link text such as /r/spring-sale. Changing it later breaks codes that are already printed.
Bulk import
Go to Bulk import and download the Excel or CSV template. It has an example row for every QR type. Fill one row per code (at least name and qr_type, plus that type's fields), click Check file first to see any problems, then Import and download ZIP to get every image (PNG, SVG or PDF) and a report of the short links. Up to 1,000 rows per file. File codes are created one by one.
Campaigns and locations
Give codes a Campaign and a Location / branch in step 4 of the editor. Compare branches on Locations and campaigns in Reports.
Serial numbers and inventory
On Bulk import, use Generate serialised codes to create up to 1,000 unique codes with serial numbers (for example SN-0001) from a link pattern such as https://example.com/p/{serial}. Add SKU, serial, batch and notes to any code. Inventory lists and searches them.
Design templates
Design a code, type a name under the design section and click Save design as template. Next time, choose it from Apply a saved template.
Protection and scheduling
Password
Set a Scan password and people must enter it before the content opens.
Start and expiry dates
Codes show a "not active yet" page before the start date and an "expired" page after the expiry date.
Scan limit
Stop a code after a number of scans, for example for limited offers.
Scheduled destinations
For website codes, open Scheduled destinations and add lines like 2030-12-01 00:00 | https://example.com/christmas. The code switches automatically at that time (UTC).
Analytics
Per-code analytics
Open any dynamic code to see total scans, unique visitors, a daily chart and breakdowns by device, operating system, browser, country and referrer.
Account analytics
Analytics in the menu shows every code together, with your top codes, for 7, 30, 90 or 365 days.
Clean numbers
Bots and link previews (for example when a link is pasted into WhatsApp) are filtered out automatically.
Exports
Download scans for one code, or all your codes, as CSV from the code page or Account.
Weekly email
Turn on Weekly summary under Account to receive scans, visitors and top codes by email every week.
Insights
Insights turns your data into plain-English findings: trends, best day and hour, top performers, codes with no scans, broken links, campaign and location comparisons, and what to do next.
Location and repeat scans
Countries, cities and regions are shown when your server is behind Cloudflare (or a proxy that adds location headers). Each code also shows repeat visitors and repeat scans.
Reports
Open Reports and pick a report type: Overview, Campaigns and Locations (scans, unique visitors, change vs the previous period, scans per code, top code), Compare codes (up to 5 side by side with daily bars), Audience (devices, systems, browsers, countries, cities, regions, languages, device by system), Time & trends (12-month trend, daily chart, weekday-by-hour heatmap, time of day, weekday vs weekend), Engagement (new vs returning visitors, scans per visitor, repeat rate), Leads (leads per day, conversion per landing page), Inventory (scans by SKU, batch and serial) and Code health (score plus codes that are broken, near their limit, expiring, idle or never scanned). Every report has filters, CSV export and Print / PDF.
Account, security and themes
Theme
Go to Account & security > App theme and pick a colour theme. The moon button switches dark mode.
Two-factor login
Click Set up 2FA, scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy or 1Password, and enter the 6-digit code. Lost your phone? Contact support to reset it.
Password
Change it under Account, or use Forgot password? on the login page.
Delete your account
At the bottom of Account, confirm with your password. This permanently removes all codes and data.
Plans and billing
Change plan
Open Plan & billing and choose a plan. Paid plans open a secure Stripe checkout.
Invoices and cancelling
Click Open billing portal to update your card, download invoices or cancel.
Limits
Your plan sets how many QR codes you can have. If you reach it, delete codes you no longer need or upgrade.
Team, brand and alerts
Invite your team
Open Team, enter a colleague's email and choose a role: Admin (everything except billing), Editor (create and edit codes) or Viewer (read only). They get an email, or you can copy the invite link. Team activity shows who did what.
White-label scan pages
Open Brand & domain to add your brand name, colour and logo to landing pages and other scan pages, and hide our branding.
Custom domain
In Brand & domain, enter a domain such as qr.yourbrand.com, add the CNAME record shown, then click Verify. New and re-downloaded codes then use your domain. Codes printed before keep working.
Alerts
Alerts lists broken destinations, unusual scan spikes and scans on paused or expired codes. Click Check links now any time. Alerts can also go to Slack, Teams or Discord.
API, integrations and webhooks
API keys
Open Developers & API, give the key a name and choose Read and write or Read only. Copy the key straight away: it is shown only once. Revoke keys you no longer use.
Using the API
Send Authorization: Bearer <key> to /api/v1/.... The Developers page lists every endpoint with examples in cURL, JavaScript and Python, and links to the OpenAPI spec. You can create up to 100 codes at once with POST /api/v1/qrcodes/bulk.
Integrations
Open Integrations and connect Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Analytics 4, Zapier, Make, Google Sheets or a custom webhook. Each card explains where to find the URL or ID. Click Send test to check it works. Every real scan is then sent automatically.
Google Sheets
On the Google Sheets card open How to get this, copy the script into your sheet's Apps Script editor, deploy it as a web app and paste the URL. Each scan becomes a new row.
Webhook security
Custom webhooks carry X-QR-Signature: sha256=..., an HMAC of the body using the signing secret shown on the Integrations page.
Getting help
Support chat
Open Support in the menu, start a request and chat with our team. You see replies in real time, and the menu shows a badge for new replies.
Common fixes
Code doesn't scan: make colours darker, increase the size, or remove the frame or logo. Code shows "unavailable": it is paused, expired, not started yet or over its scan limit. Can't create codes: you have reached your plan limit.
