Static vs dynamic QR codes: which should you print?

Choosing the right QR code saves you money and reprints.

Static QR codes

The content is stored inside the code. They work offline and never expire, but you can't change them or see scans. Great for Wi-Fi and plain text.

Dynamic QR codes

The code holds a short link that you control. You can:

• change the destination after printing
• see scans by day, device and country
• add a password, start date, expiry or scan limit

Our advice

Use dynamic codes for anything printed in volume: menus, flyers, packaging and posters. Always scan-test before you print.
